An unexpected conversation

[EJ]*sitting at his computer when Joey's screen name signs in. feeling a dull ache in his chest he takes a deep breath and sends her a message* Hey! How are you?
[Joey] *hearing her computer ding she ignores it and keeps working on her paper* I should've done this before I went away for the weekend. *laughing quietly when she realizes she is talking to her computer, she shakes her head and continues working*
[EJ]*after she doesn't reply he sits there a minute and taps his finger on the keyboard. Trying to decide if he should send her another message or not* I'm sure you're still mad, hurt, and upset with me and I don't blame you. I'm mad at myself. I just wanted to say I'm sorry for leaving you.
[Joey] *hearing the ding again she sighs and pulls up the messenger, seeing Evan's screen name she is scared to open the IM, but remembering her wish for them to be friends she opens it and reads them and thinks for a minute before typing back* Hey Evan! Sorry it took me a minute to get back, I am working on a research paper. And, just so you know I am still hurt that you left but that doesn't mean I don't want to hear from you.
[EJ]*letting out a sigh of relief that she actually messaged him back* I'm sorry Joey it was completely selfish of me and I wish I could go back and undo it and not have left.
[Joey] I guess I understand why you left, but now you aren't here to see that Bella is better. And Jonnie was found, and now her and Tyler are planning a wedding and she's pregnant again. You missed it all.
[EJ]Wait. Bella is better? Is she out?
[Joey] She is out, and doing well. I went to see her after you left because I was mad at her, mad that she made you go away. She seemed to be coming out of some weird delusion. About a week later she was released to her dad, and now she is doing well. She's happy again.
[EJ]*sits there and stares at her words for a minute trying to think of what he should say next* I'm glad she's better and got to go home. I'm happy you all found your sister. A wedding and a pregnancy is great news. Did Bella go home with Ryan or Sirius?
[Joey] She is with Ryan. Remember that quidditch player Liam? From Jax's team?
[EJ]Yeah the tall blond guy makes Bella look like a little kid? What about him?
[Joey] He has been hanging around with her again. They were at the world cup together, as friends. But they were both pretty much content just hanging out together the whole time.
[EJ]*smiles* Yeah Liam is good for her. I'm glad she has him again. So just friends, they aren't dating? You know he almost fractured her delusion before. But I didn't want to tell him about her and scare him away from her or anything.
[Joey] They aren't dating, but I wouldn't be shocked if they decided to start a relationship in the near future. =]
[EJ]Really? So what about you. Any guy snag you up yet?
[Joey] So how is everything in the states? And yes I am avoiding your question.
[EJ]So then the answer to that question would have to be yes. And it's horrible here. I hate it. I should have stayed in London.
[Joey] Doesn't have to be yes, I could just be trying to ignore you! But, yes I am seeing someone. Its new and awkward but he was there for me when the person I needed walked away. =[
[EJ]Well then I'm glad he was there for you when I was a complete idiot and let you go.
[Joey] That's in the past, you left and I can't make you come back. I just wish you find happiness there.
[EJ]You're right it's in the past. I left everything that made me happy there in the UK.
[Joey] You didn't have to leave. You could've stayed.
[EJ]And if I came back would it make a difference?
[Joey] You have friends here, and people who love you. If you aren't happy there, come back. I know I'd love to have you around. Because I miss you a lot.
[EJ]I miss you a lot too Joey. I'll think about it. I just know I pissed a lot of people off when I left.
[Joey] Like who? Well besides Bella, she is kinda pissed.
[EJ]She's pissed? Yeah I knew she would be. I'm sure you're family isn't too happy with me.
[Joey] My family knows I was hurt, I cried a lot. But after finding Jonnie all of that kind of took the back seat. My dad doesn't stay mad at anyone. And my brothers, they are guys. They wouldn't say too much.
[EJ]Okay so if I got on the next flight out and was there the next day could I see you?
[Joey] Of course you could see me, because you are my friend, you will always be my friend.
[EJ]Well I was planning to visit soon. Maybe I'll make it permanent.
[Joey] I am moving out of dad's so he will have space if you need a place to crash. He always liked you, so consider that okay?
[EJ]Live with your dad? I don't know I'll think about it. I'm glad you are getting out on your own.
[Joey] LOL I wish I was on my own, I will have Nate and Luke as roommates. Its pretty much like living at home.
[EJ]LOL Roommates are good though. You never know when you might need someone.
[Joey] I know, and with them I think it will be fun. Because we have the same friends.
[EJ]That's even better. So new friends, new flat. Sounds like you're in a good place.
[Joey] So Evan, don't tease me. Are you coming back? Cause I think I'd like that
[EJ]Yeah I'm coming back as soon as I figure out where I'll be staying once I get there. I miss you and I can't stay away any more. I know you have someone new but just having you in my life will be so much better then what I've put myself through by leaving.
[Joey] I'll tell you what, you let me know when you are coming and it will be me at the airport waiting for you. Only, I think bringing you purple roses is weird, so I will bring you a coffee and give you a hug. =]
[EJ]I'll take a coffee and a hug. =]
[Joey] I am glad you are coming back. Do you want to tell Bella or do you need me to?
[EJ]I'll call her. I'm sure she'll want to curse me or something.
[Joey] Well, the best friends wrath is pretty ugly!
[EJ]Yeah I know I've had it from her too many times to count. I'd think she'd stop talking to me by now!
[Joey] Nah, she loves you. I think she was just hurt that you left when you did.
[EJ]That I left her or that I left you?
[Joey] Both of us.
[EJ]Well I'm sorry for leaving you both. I'll make it up to you both I promise.
[Joey] =] I will hold you that.
[EJ]Please do. I need someone to! =]
[Joey] I have a research paper calling my name, and you have flights to look up. So want to meet back online in a few hours? We can figure it all out from there?
[EJ]Sounds like a good plan. I'll let you know when I book my flight.
[Joey] Okay, I can't wait. Hey Evan, I'm glad you said hi to me today.
[EJ]I'm glad I said hi to you too. I'll talk to you soon Joey good luck on your paper.
[Joey] Thanks Evan. Bye for now, miss you.
[EJ]Bye Joey. I miss you too.
[Joey] *closing out her message left her a little sad and yet a little excited. knowing she'd have to tell Andy what was happening didn't feel good at all. with a deep sigh she started typing away on her paper trying to keep her mind  from wandering*
