[Alec] Well Joey, we are here. *fixing her collar* You look nervous. Are you sure you are ready to start over in London with me? I know you and your mom aren't close, but I won't be upset if you don't want to stay with me.
[Joey] *smiling at him* No daddy, I am sure I want to be here with you. I am just nervous about seeing Evan. I never told him why I had to leave. He doesn't know about mom telling me you were dying. *sighing* I should've known it was a trick and stayed. I wanted to stay.
[Alec] *standing up and then letting her stand up and walking with her* Joey, if he cares about you he will not be mad that you left. You were worried about me. I am sorry your mother did that. But, its over now. You are far away from her. Don't dwell on it. *taking her hand and smiling warmly at his baby girl* So is Evan meeting us here?
[Joey] *smiling* He is, he told me he'd be here. *as they step into the airport she glances around and then lets go of her dad's hand as she sees him standing there looking anxious* Evan! *dropping her bags and running to him, looking at him before pulling him to her kissing him on the lips and hugging him tightly* I have missed you, I am sorry I kept you waiting.
[EJ] *wraps his arms around her and pulls her up to his full height, kissing her* I've missed you too Joey. none of that matters now. *kissing her again before setting her back down on her feet* Here I brought you these. *picks up the roses he promised her and hands them to her kissing her on the cheek*
[Joey] *looking at them and smiling as she smells them* They are beautiful sweetie. I love them! Thank you. *kissing him softly and turning to see her dad smiling at them* Daddy this is Evan, Evan this is my daddy.
[Alec] *extending his hand to EJ* Nice to meet you. I have heard about you non stop since my baby left you. And for 17 hours on the plane. *chuckling and shaking his head*
[EJ] *takes his hand shaking it* Nice to meet you as well sir. *smiles down at Joey* Non stop huh? So why'd it take you so long to call me then? *teases her*
[Alec] *nudging her* Tell him everything baby. I am going to the baggage claim to get our bags. Meet me down there in a few okay. *he smiles at them, picks up Joey's bag and heads down the hallway*
[Joey] *taking his hand in hers and shifting the flowers before taking a deep breath* I don't know why it took me so long. I guess I thought you hated me for just leaving. I know if you just disappeared I would've been very upset.
[EJ] *shrugs* Guess I've grown accustomed to it. Every time I fall for a girl she up and disappears on me.
[Joey] I am not your average girl. I didn't mean to hurt you. I can say sorry every day and it won't take away the guilt I feel.
[EJ] I don't want you to be sorry or feel guilty. I'm sure you had a good reason.
[Joey] *biting her lip* As you can see, my dad is my world. My mom called me one night after you had gone to sleep and told me he was dying and that I needed to come home. I couldn't even process what was going on so I left. I didn't even get my stuff, its still at Mia's. I hopped on the next flight out. It broke my heart to walk away but I believed it was for the right reasons. *trying to fight back tears she turned to look at him* I never would've left you if I knew it was my mom being a liar.
[EJ] *smiles at her and wipes away the lone tear on her cheek, bending down and kissing her softly* I can't believe she would do something like that. Thankfully your father is obviously fine and you're here now.
[Joey] I am sorry I was too ashamed to call you sooner. But let's make up for lost time. I am here now and you live in the same city. We can put the bad behind us and move on from the good. And there is good. A lot of good. *smiling and eyes lighting up* I no longer have a broken heart cause the piece I left you is now safe and sound.
[EJ] *pulls her to him and hugs her close before lifting her chin and kissing her deeply* I'm really glad you came back to get it, but I'd love to hang on to it.
[Joey] It's yours then. *winking before kissing him back even deeper then he kissed her* Gosh, I missed you. *seeing Alec holding the luggage* I guess we should go help him, but hey will you come with us? Please? He has to set up his office and I need to unpack my room. I would love some company.
[EJ] Of course I took the whole day off to spend with you. Did you think I would come see you then run off that quickly. *shakes his head* No way.
[Joey] *motioning towards her dad* Well, I didn't know how you would feel about my dad being around too, but he won't bother us. He's pretty awesome like that.
[EJ]*chuckles* As long as he doesn't try to hex me for kissing his daughter I'll be fine. *winks at her, taking some of the bags from Alec* Let me help you there sir.
[Alec] Thanks son. *handing Joey the light bags* They sent a car for us, Evan are you joining us? You are more than welcome.
[Joey] *smiling as she watches them*
[EJ] Yes sir, I took the day off to help you both get settled.
[Alec] *looking at Joey* You were right, I like him. *chuckling he walks out and starts putting bags in the car*
[Joey] Thank you for taking the day off for me. *holding the door for him to get through and then setting the bags down and handing Alec the flowers* Daddy will you hold these? *hugging Evan and kissing him before they get in the car* I think we are going to make out the whole way home. *giggling*
[Alec] *laughing* Young love. I think I will sit up front so you two can sit in the back together.
[EJ]*grins at her* You really did miss me didn't you. *kisses her again*
[Joey] *nodding* I told you I did. Didn't you miss me? *playfully pouting as the door is closed for them*
[EJ] *kisses her pouted lip* Obviously more then I realized. *grins at her*
[Alec] *watching them and smiling* Here's to starting over.
[Joey] *whispering to EJ* I am glad I am starting over with you. *cuddling in his arms and resting her head on his shoulder she looks out the window taking in the city that is now her home*
[EJ] Me too. *wraps his arms around her and kisses the top of her head.* We should go for a walk later, the Thames is beautiful at night.
[EJ] *returns her kiss, pulling her closer*
