Hate & Love.. that's rough.

*slipping out of the bed and kissing Tyler on his cheek she tiptoes out of their room and walks down to Ty's room, grabbing an outfit and sliding it in her purse she picks him up and carries him out to to the kitchen and writes Tyler a quick note then takes one more look towards their bedroom and runs out of the room to the cab that is waiting. giving the driver the address she looks at the house and feels torn between her boyfriend and best friend*

[Ty] *stirring after the car starts he looks around* Mommy? Why are we in a car?

[Jonnie] We are going to get Uncle Lucas from the airport. *smiling as a grin fills Ty's face* We need to take him to grandpa's.

[Ty] Can I stay at grandpa's with him?

[Jonnie] *frowning, unsure of what to say* We'll see. *she turns and watches as they pass street after street. As they get close she helps Ty get dressed and brushes his hair. as they pull into the airport she pays and walks inside heading towards the gate, only to find out Lucas' plane is delayed* Well, we have time to eat, are you hungry? *with a nod from Ty they head to find some food*

[Tyler] *waking up and rolling over Tyler is surprised to see that Jonnie is not beside him. He gets up and sees that she and Ty aren't there. Wandering around confused for a moment he sees a note. "Gone to pick up Lucas". Looking a little lost he gets dressed and climbs into his car, hoping he makes it to the airport before they leave. He doesn't know what to say to Lucas when he sees him, but he feels he should be there when he arrives. On the drive he wonders why Jonnie didn't wake him so that he could take them. He arrives and looks around, finding them in the coffee shop.* Hi.

[Jonnie] *looking surprised to see him* Um, Hi?

[Ty] Hi daddy, want breakfast? Mom might let you have a cinnamon bun too! *licking the icing he smiles*

[Jonnie] Ty, eat right son. I don't want you a mess when Lucas gets here. *suddenly freezing and looking at Tyeler as she finishes that statement*

[Tyler] You know, I have a car. *giving her a hopeful smile* I could have driven you. I hope you don't mind me being here.

[Jonnie] I didn't want to ask you. What ever issue you and Lucas have, I want no part of it. *looking at Ty who is paying no mind to them* I don't want it to be weird for them. Ty and him love each other.

[Tyler] I promise, if it is in my power I won't let it be weird. Lucas and I have some stuff to work out, but that's not important. What's important is being here for my family. *sitting beside her and across from Ty* But if you want me to I can go. I don't want this to be weird for you either. *looking a little unsure of his place in their family*

[Jonnie] You can stay, he is your brother. *smiling trying to hid the nervousness* Sorry I didn't ask you to bring us.

[Tyler] *putting his arm around her shoulder* It's alright, you were being thoughtful. Or cautious. Either way, it's fine. You look nervous. *smiling and ordering a cinammon roll and a large glass of milk when the waitress comes over and winking at Ty* That looks good. *and then turning back to Jonnie* Do you think he'll be ok with me being here? You know him better than I do these days.

[Jonnie] Does it bother you that I know him well? *suddenly feeling defensive*

[Tyler] No, that's not what I meant. *playing with the sugar packets* I'm glad that he was there for you. I was just asking if you thought he was going to be ok with me being here. *pouting a little*

[Jonnie] *sighing* I don't know. He is different then the kid he was when you left. *playing with her cup of water, seeing her ring and looking at him* He might be upset to see this though.

[Tyler] *taking the roll from the waitress and pushing it between them so they can share if she wants to, speaking quietly so as to not alert Ty* And will it upset you if he's upset to see it? *looking into her eyes*

[Jonnie] *staring at him and getting ready to speak she hears an announcement that the flight lists have been updated, looking over at the screen and smiling she stands up* His plane is here!

[Tyler] *seeing her excitement he smiles and squeezes her hand* Go, get him, I'll wait here with Ty. We're not done with our breakfast, isn't that right buddy? *quietly* You can take it off for now, if you need to. *seeing her look to the screen and back to him again he sighs* Go, really we'll be fine.

[Jonnie] *smiling and leaning down to kiss his cheek she almost sprints to the gate and waits anxiously as people come off the plane, with each person passing her she gets more and more antsy. just when she can't stand it any longer she sees him and as he spots her he runs and picks her up spinning her around, hugging her tight* Hey handsome! How was your flight? *pecking him on the lips without thinking she blushes*

[Lucas] It was to long! I couldn't wait to get here. Where is my boy? You promised you bring him. *looking at her a little hurt*

[Jonnie] He is here. *looking at him* Tyler is here, they are in that cafe over there.

[Lucas] *looking at her then at the cafe* Well shit Haley, why? Why did you bring him?

[Jonnie] He followed me, I couldn't send him back to his house. You are his brother. *taking his hand and then spining into him for another hug* I am so glad you are here. I have missed you so much.

[Lucas] *hugging her* I have missed you too. I have been miserable since you left. *looking back at the cafe* Lets go get this out of the way.

[Tyler] *watching as the woman he loves runs into the arms of another man, like a scene from a romance movie. He absentmindedly picks at his cinammon roll as they have a tense conversation, both of them looking toward the cafe. Obviously her telling Lucas that he is there. He notices Lucas' look of dismay* Awesome *he mutters under his breath* Looks like baby brother is just thrilled to see me. *as they approach the table he stands and puts on a wide smile* Lucas! *patting his brother on the back* It's great to see you.

[Ty] *spotting Lucas he jumps up and runs to him* Uncle Lucas! I missed you!

[Lucas] *picking up Ty and kissing him and then pretending to eat him, as they laugh he hugs him again* Hi son, how are you? *turning to Tyler* Hey Tyler, how are you? *trying to be happy, he puts on his best smile*

[Tyler] *his voice slightly strained* I'm great. Lots of big things happening in my life this week. *wrapping his arm around Jonnie's waist and ruffling Ty's hair with his free hand* And now you're here too. It just keeps getting better doesn't it?

[Jonnie] *smiling at Lucas* It does keep getting better. *looking at Tyler with a "behave" face she motions for them to sit so he and Ty could finish eating*

[Lucas] *slides in next to Ty* When we get my suitcases I brought you some toys from home. I thought you might be missing them. *winking at Ty then turning to Jonnie* So Haley, where am I staying?

[Ty] You brought me toys? *smiling* Yes! *hugging Lucas* Thank you.

[Tyler] *looking from Jonnie to Lucas and back again* Haley?

[Jonnie] It's what he calls me. *smiling as she remembers the day in the rain*

[Tyler] But I thought you hated your middle name. *picking at his bun some more and waving to the waitress asking for a box. He finishes his milk and smiles at her, trying to take the irritation from his voice before turning back to Lucas and Jonnie* Still nicknames are good I suppose.

[Lucas] Well, I guess she is your Jonnie and my Haley. *smiling at her*

[Jonnie] *suddenly tensing up* Something like that I guess. I didn't hate it, I hate that my first and middle names have the same ending. I still think my parents weren't thinking when I was named. *trying to lighten the mood she looks at Ty who has yet to let go of Lucas* So Ty, are you full buddy?

[Ty] I am mommy. That was good. *rubbing his tummy for effect* You should have one uncle Lucas.

[Lucas] I will get one to go, and maybe you can help me eat it.

[Tyler] *standing and kissing Jonnie quickly* I'll be right back, I'm just going to go take care of this *picking up the bill* I'll have them add yours on too Lucas, and then I've got to run to the mens room and I'll be back. *taking the bill before anyone can respond he walks to the register and takes care of it and then walks into the men's room, leaning against the wall and banging his head back once* Stupid stupid stupid. She's totally into him. I should have seen it. And he's just the same as he's always been. He won't be happy until she's his. And Ty loves him, he may as well be his father. *he stops speaking when someone walks into the bathroom and takes a deep breath, washing his face and turning on his publicity shot charm he walks back out and to the table* Right, well it's a good thing that I've got my car here. Let's go get Uncle Lucas' stuff dropped off, then we can make plans for the day. *smiling*

[Lucas] *excusing himself from the table and pulling Tyler with him, as soon as they are out of earshot he looks at his brother* I know you aren't happy to see me. I am slightly peeved to find out she found you. But, can we agree to get along for her and Ty?

[Tyler] *crossing his arms and staring at Lucas* You know this is just like you. You want to come off like the good guy, playing nice for their sake, Let me ask you something before I agree to anything ... You knew which team I was playing for. You couldn't have found a way to contact me?

[Lucas] I helped her look for you. To be honest I forgot what team you were playing for because when you left I hated you. Hated you for leaving me, for leaving me with that alcoholic asshole mom married. But, then you were gone. Not just out of the house, but out of the country. I was angry and getting into trouble, then Jonnie walked into the picture, and I felt the urge to hold her close because she was close to you. Then she told me she was pregnant with YOUR son! Your son.

[Tyler] *sighing* Look I'm sorry I left. Well no, I'm not sorry I left that fucking house, I hate Jerry with my entire being. But I'm sorry I left you there. I should have fought when mom said I couldn't bring you with me. But don't you dare take that tone with me about her carrying my son. Because I didn't know. *angrily* And you sure did a bang up job of taking over the spot of daddy for me.

[Lucas] Look, I didn't do anything wrong there. I am sure if you ask her she will tell you I tried to help in a way that I thought you would. I raised him the way we should've been. Not out of selfishness, out of respect. Because, I do love you Tyler. I just happened to fall in love with Hal... Jonnie along the way. And honestly, can you blame me. Look at her. *turning to look at her, then back at him* When she almost died she told me to take him and find you. I would've found you and brought Ty to you.

[Tyler] Fine. Whatever. Yeah, I'll be nice if you do the same. But stop hitting on my girl alright, you may have been there for her, but we're ... *stopping and looking at Jonnie, knowing that she wouldn't want him to break their news like this * we're together now. You're going to have to accept that

[Lucas] I can't just let her go like that. I tried, and every time she told me she still loved me it made me try harder. Had her mom not died she would've been in Cali with me and I know she would have been mine. *puts his hands up* I am not trying to be a dick, I am being honest. She loves me too.

[Tyler] Dammit Lucas. What do you want me to do? Shake your hand and say "may the best man win"? I'm not going to do that, because you've been the best man for years when I didn't have that option. And now my son loves you, and he doesn't even know me.

[Lucas] Bullshit, ask him. He knows you. Haley, told him about you every single day! He knows all about you. He had most of your belongings in his room. Ask that kid anything and he could answer it. Have you even talked to him? *rubbing his head* Don't pretend you know what I did or didn't do, the only thing he didn't know is that you were my brother.

[Tyler] *seeing Jonnie looking at them anxiously he sighs* Fine, we'll figure it out. For now I guess all I have to say is it's good to see you. It really is good to see you Lucas, I'm glad you're here, no matter what else might be happening. We'll figure the rest out.

[Lucas] *leaning forward and hugging Tyler for the first time in years* It's good to see you too. I really mean it. As far as Jonnie, I don't know how we can figure it out. We both love the same girl.
