A rough night out.

[Alec] *picking up his grandson and playfully tickling him as he talks to Jonnie* You have fun. Be careful with them. You know as well as I do they are going to duke it out, its only a matter of time. *seeing Lucas coming down the steps* Ty is going to stay up late and party with me, so get out of here so we can call the ladies and start the party. *winking at Jonnie as she frowns, he spins and carries Ty into the kitchen* Let's get us some snacks buddy.

[Jonnie] *shaking her head* My father is a nut! Come on Lucas, Tyler will be here any minute. I told him we'd be outside waiting for him.

[Lucas] He'll live if we aren't out there waiting. *opening the door and taking her hand into his pulling her into a hug* I am going because you asked me. But, I don't want to see you two making out and all that. It makes my stomach turn. *smiling he sees a car slow down out the corner of his eye, and turns to her and plants a kiss on her lips* Come on, lets go wait for him, like you said. *laughing at her shocked expression* Oh look who's here, on time. No surprise there.

[Tyler] *opening his car door and glaring at Lucas. At a complete loss for words he stands there, looking at them both. Finally he says* Am I early? Perhaps interrupting something?

[Jonnie] *walking up to hug Tyler* No, you are right on time. *smiling at him and smacking Lucas* Don't mind him.

[Lucas] *smirking at his brother* So where are we off to? Oh, and I already told Haley, oh sorry, you call her Jonnie. I don't want to see that sappy making out nonsense. I don't need to throw up.

[Tyler]  You know what Luke my boy, I don't think I give a fuck what you want to see. *turning and kissing Jonnie deeply he opens her car door and lets her in, then opens the driver's side door and slides the seat forward* Here you are baby brother, I've got a booster seat if you need it. *waits for Lucas to get into the seat and then climbs in himself* I was thinking bowling. What do you think Jonnie?

[Jonnie] *whispering* Be nice please. Both of you. *turning to Tyler* Bowling sounds great.

[Lucas] *sitting in the back stewing in his own anger* Bowling great!

[Jonnie] *turning to look back at Lucas* It's been awhile since we've been bowling. It will be fun, I promise. *smiling at him and making a face to get him to smile*

[Tyler] *Smiles and takes her hand on the front seat, kindly out of Lucas's line of vision. He looks in the rear view mirror and sees Lucas leaning back against the seat, arms crossed across his chest and a sour look on* Come on Lucas. I picked bowling because it's one of the few good memories I have of our childhood. When I left you were getting pretty good. Bowled a 220 last time I remember. I thought you'd enjoy it.

[Jonnie] We used to go bowling all the time too. He enjoys bowling, especially the beating me.

[Lucas] I do enjoy beating you. *chuckling* Just not looking forward to see you all over her. *turning to look out the window*

[Tyler] I'll tell you something Lucas. Had you not said a word I wouldn't have done that. I am considerate of your feelings here, and I know this is hard for you. So I'll not be "all over her" so long as you don't pull that bullshit you did when I was pulling up. *bringing the car into the parking lot and finding a space* Let's just try to have a good night? *using his wand to open a hidden rear door next to the back seat and winking as Lucas suddenly has plenty of room and an easy exit from the vehicle he shakes his hand*

[Lucas] I am trying to get used to this, I am. But you weren't there the past five years. We kissed and had affectionate moments. There is so much you don't know, some stuff you will never know.  I can't just stop who we were. *putting his hands in his pockets and walking behind them*

[Jonnie] *looking at Tyler and shaking her head to agree with Lucas* Part of that is my fault. I needed him and he was everything. Give him time to get used to us. He's trying. This will take some time but we will get it. *smiling with confidence*

[Tyler] Fine. *in a sullen tone*I won't "make out" with the mother of my child and my Fia ... girlfriend. But I'll tolerate my brother hugging and kissing her whenever he wants. Sounds like a good deal to me. *walking ahead of them into the bowling alley but stopping to open the door for Jonnie*

[Jonnie] *pausing beside Lucas* You heard how silly that sounds didn't you? I can't deal with my best friend being upset at his brother who is my boyfriend. Please Lucas, lets have fun tonight.

[Lucas] *leaning over her and whispering in her ear* But, I love you too. *standing up and smiling at Tyler after Jonnie walked into the bowling alley* Listen bro, I will be good tonight. *patting him on the shoulder* Let's go play.

[Tyler] *pays for the shoes and the several rounds of bowling he leads them to a lane* Have either of you been to a magical alley before? There are safeguards on the balls to prevent cheating and the pins taunt you. *chuckling* Also, since it's evening, there's music and fog and muggle "black lights" to make things glow. This is my favorite alley, we come with the team from time to time. *choosing a ball and then sitting down to put on his shoes.

[Lucas] *getting excited* Are you serious? *looking around* I have only been to the muggle alley's in California. *sitting down to put on his shoes and then running off to find a ball*

[Jonnie] *laughing after he runs off* Thank you for trying. I am sorry he is being difficult. I know part of it is my fault. He loves me you know.

[Tyler] I know. I'm trying, but it's going to be difficult. He knows exactly how to press my buttons. He's a good kid. Is your sister seeing someone? Maybe we can distract him. *chuckling*

[Jonnie] *laughing* Yes my sister has a boyfriend. Lucas and her are like brother and sister. So them even thinking about each other like that would be kinda gross.

[Tyler] *laughing* Alright then. None of that. *making a face* Look I'm good with behaving with you, but if he keeps pulling stunts like when I got there today he's going to get a fat lip. And you stop apologizing for him, his actions are his own, he's a big boy, he knows what he's doing.

[Jonnie] You are partly right. But I didn't stop him when he kissed me. I didn't ask for it, but I didn't stop it. *looking at him as she puts on her shoes* I don't mean to stick up for him, but its hard. I love you both and all I want is for us all to get along. *seeing Lucas walking back she finishes putting on her shoes and stands to go find her own ball*
[Lucas] The balls you need are right over there. *pointing to a shelf and smiling* This is a cool place Tyler. I was checking out that group over there playing. So, what order are we going in. Her, you, then me?

[Tyler] Sounds right to me. I'm glad you like it here. The first time we came I looked around and one of my first thoughts was how much you would have liked it. *giving Lucas a sad smile* I'm sorry I never called. I'm sorry I didn't send for you as soon as I could. I thought about you. A lot.

[Lucas] I always thought you'd come back and get me. I guess after you left to play quidditch that hope turned to hurt. I didn't hand out with Jonnie out of spite, I genuinely liked her. I don't want you to think me liking her was to hurt you. It was never about that. *smiling at his brother and feeling some of the anger and resentment he had fall away*

[Tyler] She's an easy girl to love. *smiling and clapping his brother on the shoulder* And here she comes, lets get playing. *sets the order on the screen* Jonnie love, you're first.

[Jonnie] *after getting her ball she walks to the lane with a smile* Okay, I can do this. *she lines up her shot and sends the ball down the alley, watching it as it slowly heads to the right. after only getting 4 pins she pouts* Man I stink at bowling! *she smiles at the guys while she waits for her ball to come back, when it pops out she grabs it and sends it back down the lane again* Yay! I got 4 more pins. So I have 8. *clapping she walks past Lucas and Tyler and sits on the bench* Your turn Tyler.

[Tyler] Good job! *stands and pulls out his ball, approaching and sticking his tongue out at the pins as they hurl insults at him, he releases the ball and hits the 7 pins on the left side of the lane. Grinning widely he waits for his ball to return and throws it back down the lane, hitting only the first pin on the farthest right of the lane* Look at that, we're tied. *winks and takes a seat, wrapping an arm around Jonnie, and then at Lucas's look he takes his arm down* Come on then, show us what you've got!

[Lucas] *standing up and then doing a secret handshake with Jonnie, he laughs and walks to the lane. he picks up his ball and takes a few steps, stopping to deliver a beautiful strike. jumping up and down a couple times and then strutting back to his seat* I still got it!

[Jonnie] Show off! *laughing as she shakes her head* He always kicks my ass in this game. Even magical alleys are no match. *she takes her turn and then laughs as the second ball ends up in the gutter* Well, that was harsh. *giggling she walks back and sits down, tapping Tyler on the leg* It's all you, go show them who's boss.
[Lucas] *laughing he quitely qhispers* Or try to. *then he starts laughing even harder* I am kidding man!

[Tyler] *standing and giving Lucas and obviously forced laugh* Yeah yeah, that's alright kid, I was holding back. *winks at Jonnie and then, in a completely professional approach he speeds forward and throws his ball down the alley, the pins screaming in mock fear as the ball comes speeding toward them. The practically explode in a powerful strike and he smiles, turning and pulling Jonnie up from her seat, dancing with her a bit to the song that was playing* I'm feeling thirsty? Who wants a drink? I can get you a chocolate milk Lucas, if I recall that's your favorite.

[Lucas] It was my favorite when I was a kid, you know when you still lived with me. I don't want any damn chocolate milk! *standing up and angrily throwing the ball down the lane getting another strike then walks back and sits next to Jonnie* So, it's your turn. How about a little love glove for good luck? *smiling he takes her hand and kisses it before rubbing it* There, your love glove is ready.

[Jonnie] *laughing uncomfortably* Thanks! But, I think I am thirsty too. Tyler will you get me a sprite please?

[Tyler] Sure thing. A sprite. Sorry Lucas, what can I get you? Firewhiskey? Butterbeer? Guiness? *looking at them innocently, but seething inside*

[Lucas] I am good, thanks.

[Tyler] *shrugs* If you're sure. *walks toward the bar, bopping to the music that's playing*

[Jonnie] Dammit Lucas, why must you get him going? He is going to start a fight up in here.

[Lucas] *watching her take her first shot he justs stares forward, as she take her second shot he smiles* You know my answer.

[Jonnie] I can't erase my feelings for him, you know I have loved him for a long time. You remember our pact right? *looking at his face and knowing the answer*

[Lucas] So you erased your feelings for me? Was I that easy to let go of? I feel so special right now. Thanks. *folding his hands across his chest*

[Jonnie] Must you always be so dramatic? No, I didn't just erase my feelings for you. The feelings for you guys are different. *seeing Tyler coming back she smiles at him, then looks back at Lucas* I love you both, and I want tonight to be fun. Can we just have fun?

[Lucas] *seeing Tyler come back he stands up* I guess I am thirsty. It's your turn. I will be back after your go. *walking away he looks at Jonnie with a hurt look*

[Tyler] *hands Jonnie her drink then takes his shots carelessly, the first and second balls both going straight into the gutter. He sits down next to Jonnie and looks at her seriously* This was a bad idea.

[Jonnie] I don't know. I think we can have fun, I just haven't figured out how. In all the years he and I spent together, he talked about how he missed you. Now that you are in his life. He doesn't know what to do. It's not just us that has him bent out of shape. It's the fact that the kid in him is still hurt. *frowning* I want you two to find that family bond I know you once had.

[Tyler] *shaking his head* I don't know that he'll ever be able to forgive me for leaving him there. I don't think I can forgive me for it.

[Jonnie] I feel like I should be helping with him, but no matter who I try to help the other one gets upset. So, I just sit back, not knowing what to say or do.

[Tyler] *putting his arm around her shoulder and kissing her gently* I'm sorry for putting you in the middle here. I'm trying, but I'm not trying hard enough. Maybe after a couple of drinks we'll both me more relaxed. We had a moment there earlier, maybe we can try to expand on that.

[Lucas] *walking up behind them seeing his arm around her, cursing under his breath. setting his drink down hard* Guess it's my turn. *walking down to throw his ball and turning his back on the lane, missing his strike* Go ahead Jonnie.

[Jonnie] *sighing* See? *standing to take her shots. happy that she got a few pins with each throw. then sitting by herself to not cause more trouble*

[Tyler] *standing and taking his brother by the arm* We need to talk. *to Jonnie* We'll be right back, and we'll be back, and happy, in just a few moments.

[Jonnie] *biting her lip and trying not to act upset* I will be right here.

[Lucas] *going out with Tyler* What the hell?

[Tyler] You claim to love her right? *in an angry tone*

[Lucas] *in a mocking tone* If you love her let her go? *looking at Tyler* Sorry, I love her but I can't just let her go. You have no idea what we've been through.

[Tyler] Don't you put words into my mouth. That's not what I was going to say. i was GOING to say that she really wants tonight to be fun. And I have to give her what she wants, I've taken enough from her to last several lifetimes. So, I'm going to have fun tonight, and you can either be pissy and sour with me and flirt with her and continue making the evening awkward and uncomfortable on purpose. OR you can grow the fuck up, agree to try to have a good time tonight, and I'll try my hardest to not put you in this situation again.

[Lucas] *turning away from him and punching the concrete wall beside him and then sliding down the wall trying to hold back tears* I would love for her to have fun, but I can't have fun. Maybe I should just leave. Let you two love birds have a great time.

[Tyler] *squatting down beside him and looking at his hand* Dammit Luke, you broke your finger. *pulling out his wand and mending the fractured bone quickly, cleaning the scrapes and then, after some consideration, healing them completely* I don't want her to think we were fighting. What happened to you brother? What made you so angry? Is your Hayley really the only good thing that's ever happened to you?

[Lucas] *putting his head into his now healed hand* Since I was a kid I had to be what mom and Jerry wanted. I was always worng or bad. It was with Haley that I could be myself. I didn't have to do anything I didn't want to. She made me a better person. Then we moved out of that house and got a place together so I could help her with Ty. It was just us. She saved me and in a way I saved her. I was a piece of you, until Ty was born and then he was really a piece of you. *smiling* I played basketball and had a better life, I was truely happy. You have to understand my point Tyler. Even if nothing else I ever do makes sense, please understand that this is bigger then just me loving the mother of your son.

[Tyler] I do understand, that's what makes this so hard. I'd like to be the bigger man, I'd like to just shake your hand and let you have her. But I love her. And I lost her once, I can't do it again. Especially not with Ty. Can you understand that?

[Lucas] Like you I want to be the bigger man, but I can't either. I can't just let her go. She was my everything when I needed someone. She rescued me, they both did. Ty's birth made me grow up. I needed that.

[Tyler] *sighs* She's gonna be pissed if we don't come back soon. Lets get this evening done with. She's not happy with either of us. You know that right?

[Lucas] She is always mad at me for something. *smiling* That's part of being her best friend. I know how to push her buttons, but I also know how to make her smile.

[Tyler] Right. Well then. *standing and running his hand through his hair watching as Lucas stands back up* Well then lets use that talent. You go make her smile, and for tonight, I'll step out of your way. But I'm telling you now, if your lips touch hers, I'm ripping them off of your face.

[Lucas] I won't kiss her. Well her lips anyways. And I won't shoot you death stares if you kiss her. *hugging his brother* Tyler, I've missed you. I really have.

[Tyler] Sounds good to me. And I've missed you too. Come on, I've got to go kick your ass at bowling. *clapping him on the shoulder again and walking them into the building with a smile to Jonnie*

[Jonnie] Finally you are back. I was getting ready to come looking for you! *looking worried as she sees them walking together*

[Lucas] *laughing as he picks her up and throws her over his shoulder screaming and laughing* Come on Hales, lets go finish up some bowling. *setting her down by the chairs and whispering* Sorry for earlier. Love you! *smiling he looks at Tyler* Your turn bro.

[Tyler] *smiles and takes his turn, getting a spare easily and turning to laugh at Jonnie and Lucas* Alright then you're up. *sitting next to Jonnie and hugging her, whispering in his turn* Sorry about that, but we're good for now.

[Lucas] *walking up take his turn, acting all serious then at the last second turning around and throwing the ball between his legs, then spinning around to see where the ball was headed* Come you horrible pins, get ready! *jumping up and down at his strike* How awesome was that?!?! *walking back to Jonnie and Tyler, giving them high fives, then looking at Jonnie* Your turn.

[Jonnie] *clapping at Lucas then patting Tyler on the thigh before getting up* Okay, I can't top that. But, I can do something funny. *Getting up and then walking up to the line, bending over and doing the little kid rool with the ball, covering her face as the ball spins towards the mouthy pins* I can't watch!

[Tyler] *laughs as her ball rolls slowly toward the pins, hitting them and he stands and turns her around just in time for her to see the last of the 10 pins wobble and fall over* HA! That was your best shot tonight.

[Jonnie] Oh my gosh! *jumping up and down* I can't believe I did that. *laughing as she does a little dance* I did it, I did it!

[Lucas] *laughing* Someone is excited.

[Tyler] *laughs and congratulates her, and then takes a deep swig of his beer, The rest of the evening is a happy one, just as Jonnie wanted. They finish the bowling with Lucas winning and Tyler a close second, jonnie having come in last but still managing to have more fun than the other two altogether. As they change out of their shoes Tyler stretches* I am starving! Who wants to go get something to eat? *Leaving the bowling alley Tyler lets Jonnie and Lucas into his car and they drive to a small all night cafe* I've spent a lot of late nights here *he says as he lets them out* just sitting in the back people watching. I have ... well had ... a hard time sleeping.

[Jonnie] I have a hard time sleeping sometimes too. But mostly because I always had too much on my mind.

[Lucas] I guess we've all had trouble sleeping. *smiling at them* So does this place have american food? I need a burger.

[Tyler] *grinning* Yeah, it's mostly American food, that's why I come here, it reminds me of home. *they take a seat and a pretty young waitress comes up and hugs Tyler tightly before he sits down*

[Lizzy] Tyler Ferris! Where have you been hiding yourself I haven't seen you in weeks. *smiling at Jonnie and Lucas* You brought some friends with you this time I see.

[Tyler] Yeah, *flushing slightly* Hi Lizzy, this is my brother Lucas and my girlfriend Jonnie. *holding Jonnie's hand* Lizzy here is the reason I started cooking. I asked her for about a dozen recipes so for Christmas she gave me a cookbook, and I've been a cooking fool ever since. *giving Lizzy a warm smile*

[Lizzy] Jonnie? As in Jonnie the girl you left behind? Goodness that is wonderful! *leaning down and hugging Jonnie too* I can't tell you how much I've heard about you. And Lucas too! *shaking Lucas' hand* It's so nice to finally meet you both! What can I get you to drink?

[Lucas] *glaring at them as Tyler looks at Jonnie* Nice to meet you as well.

[Jonnie] So you are the one who got him into cooking? Thanks. *with a warm smile she orders a coke and then looks at Lucas* Are you mad again? Your mood swings are killing me.

[Lucas] I'm not mad, so get of my back. *looking down at the menu he orders a root beer and then takes out his cell phone and sends a text*

[Lizzy] *giving Lucas a nervous look before putting on a professional face and taking the rest of their drink orders* Right, I'll get those right up for you. I'll be back in a few minutes for your food orders, Ty know's what's best on the menu. *she says in a perky voice her london accent coming out fast and strong* I'll be just back with your drinks.

[Tyler] *to Jonnie* Thanks for being nice to her, she and I never dated, but we have become very close. *to Lucas* And what the fuck is your problem now?

[Lucas] "Dude, I told you I am fine." Closing the menu he plays with his straw wrapper, but refuses to look at anyone.

[Jonnie] Looking at Lucas she feels bad. "See, another reason I say the three of us can't hang out together. Someone will always be hurt."

[Tyler] *pouting a little* Yeah, I get that, but I'm not sure what I did. I was just trying to share one of my favorite places. *glancing at the menu* Lucas, their bacon cheeseburger is great, and also the barbequeue burger, that's got onion straws on it, and onion rings on the side if you like. They make great onion rings here. *to Jonnie* Their pasta is really excellent too, they make it fresh. *looking at the menu awkwardly*

[Lizzy] *brings the drinks back, a bright smile on her face* Here you are then, Have you decided what you want to eat?

[Jonnie] I think I am going to have the patty melt, and can I get mayo on the side?

[Lucas] *looking at Lizzy with a smile* Well sweetie, I think I want the bacon cheeseburger, no tomatoes. With a side of onion rings?

[Lizzy] *blushing a bit* Can do. *to Tyler* You want the club or the chicken fettuccini?

[Tyler] *grinning* You know me too well. The club, fries, ranch on the side.

[Lizzy] Sure thing. *smiling again at Lucas before she walks away to put in their order*

[Lucas] She sure does know you well, doesn't she?

[Jonnie] *looking at the boys and then at the table, tracing a crack with her finger* It's okay Lucas, he says he came here alot. You knew the waitress at the resturant by our house.

[Tyler] Yes, she does. We're friends. *smiling* You weren't under the impression, Lucas, that in nearly six years I haven't made any friends were you? *sipping his soda and then touching Jonnie's arm until she looks at him* I've told her all about you though, she'll be thrilled to meet Ty, I haven't had the chance to tell her about him yet.

[Lucas] Alot of things change in six years. I know you didn't wait around thinking about the loss of your girlfriend. *moving and looking at Jonnie* Dammit! The leg? *seeing her get upset, he takes out his phone and starts playing with it* Sorry.

[Jonnie] *ignoring Lucas and looking at Tyler* You could bring Ty here one day. He'd get a kick out of this place.

[Lucas] *under his breath* I'm sure he will bring him.

[Tyler] Yes, I think I will. He'd like it, and they'd all like to meet him. Andy, the cook, would probably be glad to meet him too. *to Lucas, smiling, feeling more entertained than irritated by his brother's temper* You haven't got a problem with me having male friends do you? *thinking for a moment* You know, Liz is really nice, and she's just broken up with her boyfriend a few months ago, if you wanted a night out without us. *he says thoughtfully.

[Lucas] I don't want to date anyone right now, thanks though. I am, well I am not ready I guess you could say. *he and Jonnie share a look and then he looks at Tyler* So big brother, tell me. How many dates did you bring here? And after your little waitress and you chatted, how many came back to see you?

[Jonnie] *trying to hold in a laugh, because Lucas asked something she was thinking, and because she was nervous* Lucas, what he did in those six years is none of my business, so how about you two talk about that later.

[Tyler] *laughing* No, no, Jonnie. Everything I did is your business. I won't bore you with details but suffice it to say nobody I saw during that time was under any impression that there was any commitment there. They all knew that we were just out to have fun. I brought a fair few here. Some saw me again, others didn't. I don't care for women who are too insecure to allow me to have female friends as it is, so if they chose not to go out with me again then I was well rid of them. *to Jonnie* I have nothing to hide from you. If you ever want to know anything, I'll tell you. *holding her hand and squeezing it gently*

[Jonnie] I don't really want to know, not because it would bother me, but because the last six years for me have been good for the most part. You leaving sucked, but that lead me to finding Lucas and then giving birth to Ty. Everything all seemed to just happen and I was okay. Adding anything to my memories probably isn't a good thing.

[Lucas] *smirking at Tyler* I am part of the good memories.

[Tyler] Good for you. *a little sullenly, trying not to let his brother's mood get him down* I'm glad that you both had some good times, and that you were there to support one another. Oh look, here comes the food.

[Lizzy] *setting down the plates and looking at them all* Is there anything else you need? Ketchup, bbq sauce? refills? *as the group declines anything else she gets ready to walk away before Tyler stops her*

[Tyler] Liz. Do you work on next Tuesday evening? And Andy too? *when she nods he grins* Great, I've got a surprise for you. I'll be here when your shift starts at seven.

[Lizzy] Okay, *she says slowly* Can't wait. *looks over at another table waving to her* Alright, I'm off, but wave me down if you need anything. *smiles and leaves the table in a rush*

[Lucas] *eating his food and watching Jonnie, looking from her to her phone, then back to his food* The food's decent. I guess I see why you come here.

[Jonnie] *playfully trying to put one of her onions on Lucas she laughs* You eat regular onions, why do these gross you out? *taking another bite she sneaks a peek at her phone, three messages? she opens them and then looks at Lucas and gives him a look. offering her patty melt up to Tyler* Want a bite? It's really good.

[Lucas] *Ignoring her question to Tyler* They just taste weird. I don't like them.

[Tyler] Who's that texting you? Does your dad need us to come back and get Ty? *he asks Jonnie happily taking a bite of her burger* That is good, I haven't had that one before. Want some of this club? It's great, they don't normally, but they put on avocado for me. It really brings it together. *to Lucas* Not a fan of the grilled onion huh?

[Jonnie] *smiling at Tyler* No thanks, I am not a fan of tomatoes and you have a really big one on there. No, dad is fine. We can take our time. I think Ty is probably asleep by now anyway. Joey and EJ probably ran him ragged.

[Lucas] I like onions, I just don't like when she takes them off her food and throws them at me or puts them on me. I don't get why she does it. *shrugging* It's just one of the quirks that I love about our friendship. She's weird and I accept it. *smiling at her with a sparkle in his eye*

[Tyler] Well I guess that makes sense. I'm not sure I'd like food that people threw at me either. But weird is good ... I guess ... *looks at them both smiling at each other and trails off unable to think of what to say next feeling like a bit of a third wheel*

[Jonnie] *laughing* I do it because you hate it.

[Lucas] You are crazy Haley, err I mean Jonnie. *looking at Tyler*

[Jonnie] *shifting to look at Tyler and watching him for a minute* Sorry, he has always called me Haley. I know you aren't used to that. But I feel bad that he has to keep saying sorry when ever he says it. I know it's habit. *looking at Lucas* But, you stop pointing out the difference. I know you are doing it to bug him. Joey and I have arguments here and there, but we never act like this.

[Tyler] I don't have any problem with him calling you that. I haven't asked that he stop. You shouldn't feel badly that he "has to" say sorry every time because he doesn't. *to Lucas* Call her Haley if you like. *trying to keep the mounting frustration from his voice* But she's right, stop correcting yourself just to point out the difference. You sound like a petulant child.

[Lucas] I will no longer correct myself, thanks. *looking at Jonnie* I have to use the rest room, I will be back. *sliding out of the booth and then walking to the counter then going to the bathroom*

[Jonnie] *shaking her head as she watches him* I swear he isn't always like this. He is usually the best person to be around. I don't know what has gotten in to him. *sighing as her phone goes off, she reads it and turns red* Oh my gosh, your brother is a nut. *showing Tyler the picture Lucas sent of him pretending to sit in the urinal*

[Tyler] *shaking his head* That's the guy I remember, completely insane. *chuckling* I don't know how to deal with this. He has more mood swings than a pubescent girl. *sighing and looking at her* I've talked with him, and then it seems like we're ok, and then I do something perfectly natural and he flips. And if he can't handle me introducing you as my girlfriend, what's he going to do when we tell him we're engaged. We are still engaged right?

[Jonnie] He won't be able to handle it, so let me tell him when I think its a good time. He is a great guy, and I have never seen him flip out this many times in six years. I think we only had a few arguments, and only one was bad. We both cried and it about ruined us. But, we always managed to make it. *looking at him and smiling* He doesn't like that we are a we. I do know that. I am sure that has a lot to do with most of the issues. *taking a picture of the salt on top of the pepper and laughing as she sends it* I miss my Lucas. This bratty Lucas is new to me.

[Lucas] *walks out of the bathroom laughing and texting Jonnie back, he looks at the table and sees them talking so he sits at the counter and watches the waitresses work*

[Tyler] Well, it's good that you two worked out your problems. At least you didn't drop him like a hot potato the minute there was a chance of some difficulty or because your friends told you it was a good idea. I'll tell you what, when you think you are ready, you let me know, and then we'll be engaged. So long as you think your Lucas can handle it huh?

[Lizzy] *walking up to Lucas sitting at the counter and looking at him watching the table* You alright then? Can I get you something, bring you a new rootbeer or something?

[Jonnie] *looking at him stunned* There is just so much you don't get. But you sit here with your food and your waitress, I am leaving. Don't worry about me. Let me up please!

[Lucas] *smiling at her* A new root beer would be great, thank you. *glancing over his shoulder and seeing Jonnie upset he winces, but doesn't move because he needed some space from them and their affection*

[Tyler] *grimacing* I'm sorry that was out of line and I know it. I'm just so ... so frustrated with this situation. There wouldn't be so much I don't understand if you'd just tell me. Don't leave, I'm sorry. *standing and moving to the other side of the table and sitting back down* I won't block you in, but please don't leave me. *looking deeply into her eyes* You're hiding something. you have all these secret glances and things. I don't know what it is, but I can feel it, and I'm afraid of losing you again. Every time you and he have those moments I feel like you're slipping away. And he knows it, and he loves it.

[Lizzy] *getting the root beer and leaning against the counter watching as Tyler switches sides* He really missed her. But it's been a long time, people change. *looking at Lucas* He talked about you too. He missed you.

[Jonnie] *flinging her phone at him* Read the messages he sent. *one about how cute they looked together on the top, the next one telling her he would always be her best friend, and one telling her he was sorry about the way he acted and that he was happy to talk to his brother* So what you think you see between us, well its probably not that. I love him, I have told you that. I don't know what more you want to hear? Ask me anything and I will tell you.

[Lucas] *looking at Lizzy* People do change. I don't know what is going on there, she loves him, but I don't know if its the same love it was. Part of that is my fault. *taking a drink of his soda he looks at her* So did you ever date him? He's a good looking guy.

[Tyler] No. *looking at the messages and then glancing back toward Lucas* I'm an ass. Nevermind. I'm sorry for making your night so bad.

[Lizzy] *looking toward the table wistfully* No, I wanted to, for awhile when he first started coming in, but then I saw how in love he was with Jonnie there, I didn't want to just be some fling, and that's all he was offering to anyone. So I didn't even bother. I found a guy, we dated for a couple of years, but we've just split. *looking a little pained but covering quickly* Yeah, I wouldn't have minded going out with your brother, but I don't fancy being the one that someone settled for. Know what I mean?

[Lucas] I know what you mean. I was there, I was the guy a girl settled for. But wether she'd admit it or not, she loved me. I convinced her to be with me and we had the best times together. I will never regret being her man. *smiling at her* So, being the person someone settled for isn't always a bad thing.

[Jonnie] *feeling bad for not being very honest about a few things, she plays with her phone after he hands it back to her* It's okay. I guess I expected it to be easier than this.

[Tyler] I don't know what I expected, but I'm really trying. I'm just *sighs yet again* I'm so angry. I'm angry with myself for not calling you when I meant to. With you for not being able to find me. With Lucas for being there when I couldn't. I'm trying to work it out, but Yeah, I'm mad and that's making me be a complete asshole when I should just be happy that I have you and Ty and Lucas back.

[Lizzy] *smiling at him gently* Well, so long as you've got no regrets, I suppose that's alright isn't it? Of course, now you're single, maybe one day you'll get the chance to be someone's first choice. In my experience there's a great difference between "not so bad" and *stops, looking abashed* I'm sorry, I've stepped out of line.

[Jonnie] I think we both have issues with the past six years. Good or bad, we survived it. I am sorry you missed so much in Ty's life, but because of Lucas' obsession with muggle gadgets we have it all on video. So you can watch what you missed. It's not the same as being there, but it is a start. *she smiles at him*

[Lucas] Nah, its okay. I know what you are getting at. Right now, being single is not so bad. It's easier then being hurt by someone you love. *he looks at her and smiles* And, one day you will find a nice guy who will make you his first choice. I know that is a great feeling.

[Lizzy] *smiles kindly* Ty was right about you, you're a smart guy. *seeing that Tyler and Jonnie have both relaxed a bit* Looks like it's safe for you to go back if you want to. I'll be going over in a minute to see if anyone wants anything else. *patting his hand which lays on the counter* I hope to see you in here again. *she smiles again and then steps away to a group who had just walked in, escorting them to a table*

[Tyler] It's on video? Oh that's fantastic! I can't wait to watch, remind me to thank Lucas. It's not what it could have been, but lacking access to a time turner, it's the best we can get isn't it? *chuckling and taking another drink of his soda*

[Lucas] *smiles at her then heads back to the table* Hey you two. *sliding in beside Jonnie he looks at Tyler* So, why are you in my spot? I will trade with you, if you want me to.

[Jonnie] *smiling as Lucas sits* Did you get her number? Or did you bore her with your life story? *looking at Tyler she smiles* He likes to tell everyone how he was the star basketball player and the king of high school. *smacking Lucas on his arm she laughs*

[Lucas] *laughing at her and shaking his head* No, I didn't tell her all that stuff, but thanks for making me seem lame. Some friend you are.

[Tyler] *looking at the two of them sitting next to each other, able to see their friendship clearly without a haze of jealousy and anger* Nah brother, you sit there, you look comfortable. You know, she probably wouldn't mind hearing those stories, she has a thing for athletes, and now I don't mean me. Lizzy's muggle, but her last boyfriend played football. Well, football out here, soccer I mean. *laughing* Listen to me, I've been in the UK too long, I've picked up the vernacular.

[Jonnie] Football, soccer, still the same thing. *turning to Lucas* She is a pretty girl. You could wow her. *winking at him* Oh, do you know where all those videos of Ty growing up are? I told Tyler you have them.

[Lucas] I know where they are, I will have to go through them and find the ones of Ty and let you see them. There is one of him laying in the bed and he starts singing out of no where. He loved his mom singing to him too. I have some of that on there too.

[Lizzy] *walking up to the table and seeing them all smiling beams* Right, does anyone need anything else? *they all say no* Alright then, *when Tyler reaches for a bill she shakes her head* That's already been taken care of this time big guy, *tilting her head toward Lucas* Your brother handled it a bit ago. *giving Jonnie a wide and genuine smile* It's really grand to meet you. I'm glad that you found him, I was getting tired of hearing him whine about how much he missed you. *she giggles* I can't wait to see the surprise you have in store for us Ty, I'll make sure to let Andy know. *to Jonnie and Lucas* I hope you both come along too! Have a great night!
