[EJ] *opens the door barely looking up from his book and sees Joey, looking down then looking back up to make sure he was seeing what he thought he was* Joey? What are you doing here? Is something wrong?
[Joey] *seeing him and smiling* Just wanted to come chat with you. Is this a bad time? I can come back.
[EJ] No not a bad time. I was just reading. *closes his book and opens the door wider* Come in. *smiles at her*
[Joey] *hugging him as she walks in* I have a port key, I want to go see Nate play basketball. But, seeing you first seemed to be more important. It's been rough tonight, and I don't know why. I just needed a friend.
[EJ] *smiles returning her hug* What happened? I can come with you to the game if you would like. So you aren't going alone.
[Joey] *taking a deep breath* Evan, how did you know you loved me. You know, back when you loved me.
[EJ] I still do love you Joey, I never stopped. *pausing* I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that. *thinks a moment* I know I love you because I think of you every minute of the day. It kills me that you aren't with me and I dream of you every night. The sight of you makes my heart race and *runs his hand over his face* I'm sorry I love you Joey I can't help myself.
[Joey] *smiling* No, I think I needed to hear that. I never dealt with you leaving because I was concerned with Jonnie being gone. Then I turned to Andy, who was always there for me. He became my best friend, and then we just fell into a relationship. I like him, alot. But when we are together, sometimes I think about you. I think about what would've been. I know that's not fair to either of you. *looking down for a minute* I don't know what to do.
[EJ] And that's my fault because I left you and I never should have left you. Had I not left you wouldn't be in this position. *takes her hand and smiles at her*
[Joey] I am not mad that you left. I was hurt, I am still hurt. But, I don't hate you or anything. How can I? You went because you couldn't stand to say here and be hurt. I would be a horrible person to expect you to stay with that kind of pain.
[EJ] *looks down then back up at her* This would all be easier if you did hate me I think. *sighs* You wanna sit down? So why did you want to know how I knew I loved you?
[Joey] *bouncing towards the couch and dramatically sitting down with a loud sigh* Because, I wonder if Andy loves me. I like him, but I am not sure it's love.
[EJ] *sighs* So you needed me to tell you how I knew. *looks at her sitting down beside her* how'd you know you loved me? You know when you loved me.
[Joey] I just knew. I couldn't stand being away from you. We had the most fun doing nothing together. It was just easy to love you. *smiling at him* That and your lack of experience matched mine. There was no competition, no expectations, there was just us.
[EJ] *smiles at her* it was easy wasn't it? *smile fades a little* but sometimes hard is... *swallows hard looking down* um... Worth it I guess I've never been one to give up easily when there was something I wanted and I couldn't have it *looks back up at her*
[Joey] But you did give up. You left me. I wanted to throw a tantrum and beg you to stay, but I was afraid what would happen when you turned and walked away. I had to let you go, and now you are back and I am not sure I understand what brought you back.
[EJ] You did! You brought me back. Bella is fine without me she doesn't need me anymore and honestly I don't need her either. But I need you! I left I know it was stupid and I kick myself for it everyday! And I hate that he gets to hold you and I can't I hate that he was there for you and I wasn't and this is my punishment I get it.
[Joey] I don't want you to be punished. *snuggling into him* I would've waited around for you if I knew you were coming back. But I didn't know. *feeling a tear run down her cheek* I am sorry I didn't wait Evan.
[EJ] I'm sorry I made you think it was for forever. *wraps his arms around her kissing the top of her head*
[Joey] *holding him and feeling comfort in his arms* So, I was on my way to Cali. Want to come with me? I just want to see Nate, then I have to go back and figure out what's next with Andy. But right now, I just want to watch my brother play basketball.
[EJ] *smiles* I'd love to watch some basketball with you.
[Joey] *smiling and taking out the blue camera* Portkeys are the greatest. *taking his hand and then touching the camera, next thing the know they are in a stairwell in the basketball complex* Okay, come on, this way. *putting the camera in her bag and grabbing his hand leading him to the arena, and running up to find the seats she always sits in* Oh look, number 23. That is Nate! *waving at him even though he doesn't see her*
[EJ] *grins at her* So we're in California huh? Too bad we have to hurry back *turns his attention to the game looking at her every now and again*
[Joey] We can always come back. Nate has another game in a few days. *smiling at him before turning her attention to the game. smiling when Nate notices her and runs up to hug her*
[Nate] Hey Joe, stay after the game okay? Come to the floor. *hugging her again before running back to play*
[Joey] *grinning* Well, apparently we are staying a bit longer. You don't mind do you?
[EJ] *smiles* not at all. And anytime you want me to come with you just come steal me *winks*
[Joey] Steal you? Deal! *they finish watching the game together and cheer as Nate shoots the last basket of the night. slowly making their way to the floor, she grabs his hand and holds it so they don't get separated* It is a mad house after a game. Man! *slowly walking towards Nate's team*
[EJ] *grins* just a bit *chuckles lacing his fingers with hers without thinking about it*
[Nate] *smiling as he sees them walk up* Hey there, I am Nate. *shaking EJ's hand then leaning down and whispering to Joey* Joey, you bad girl. Where is your poor excuse for a boyfriend tonight? *looking at EJ, blushing when he realizes he was heard* Sorry, I don't like Andy, she knows how I feel.
[EJ] *chuckles* no problem man I've been the same with my... Well she's pretty much like my sister
[Joey] *shaking her head* This is Evan. He came with me so I didn't have to come alone. Be nice Nate, I didn't like all your girlfriends either.
[Nate] *smiling and patting him on the back* I am glad you two made it. I just wanted to be nosey. You don't have to stay. But you are welcome.
[EJ] That's up to Joey I have no where to be
[Joey] We can stay for a few. I have to get back home at some point. *smiling and Jumping on Nate's back and laughing when he shakes her off*
[Nate] *laughing with her* Okay, have fun. I have to go change and then I will be back.
[EJ] *smiles* So what should we do for now?
[Joey] I am not sure. If it was daytime I'd take you surfing. But, its dangerous at night. You know, lets just go for a walk. Nate will not miss us. He has a party to go to. I can't drink so I don't want to go. *taking his hand and leading him out into the street. feeling the cool air and smiling* Hey look, that is my old neighborhood.
[EJ] *grins* we'll have to come back when it daylight and go surfing then *winks*
[Joey] Sounds like a plan. I am thinking, ice cream. *grinning* Want to go to my most favorite place ever?
[EJ] Of course I do *laughs*
[Joey] *giggling and leading him down the street* It's a few blocks down, but I swear it is so worth it. *as they walk she realizes how much easier it is with EJ, she feels like she can't be immature with Andy, but with EJ she is allowed to be silly, he doesn't care* Are you glad I came and stole you?
[EJ] I'm ecstatic that you came and stole me *grins down at her* I love spending time with you
[EJ] And it's always no bigger then your thumb *stands beside her looking up and holding his thumb up blocking the moon with it*
[Joey] *copying him and smiling* Well, look at that. *hugging him and pulling him towards the ice cream shop, pulling out her wallet and taking out some US money* I always have this in case I come home. They frown at our money. *ordering a dipped chocolate cone and then letting him order*
[EJ] *ordering a chocolate cone and smiles* I do too. Never know when you need muggle money
[Joey] *paying for the ice cream and finding a spot to sit before taking a bite* Oh man, I forgot how wonderful this place was! *watching him lick his cone* See, good right?
[EJ] *laughs licking his cone and shaking his head yes* definitely
[Joey] We can't stay in this neighborhood too long, you know my crazy mom lives close and stuff. But, how about after we eat this we head home and plan to go surfing in the next day or two? Just us.
[EJ] *grins* that's sounds like a great plan. You have some ice cream *points to her chin just below her lip*
[Joey] *wiping her face and then giggling* You can dress me up, but you can't take me anywhere. *winking she playfully takes her cone and in a quick motion, rubs ice cream on his nose* You have some ice cream on your nose. *grinning proudly*
[EJ] *laughs wipe the ice cream from his nose and rubs his cone on her cheek* thanks did I get it all... Oops my bad
[Joey] *laughing* Evan! Stop rubbing ice cream on me silly. *standing up and throwing her cone away and getting some extra napkins* Here, if you need them.
[EJ] Where is the fun in that? *chuckles* So are we leaving then? *looking a little sad*
[Joey] *frowning* I promised Andy we'd talk tonight. I don't break promises.
[EJ] *smiles* then let's get you back *stands up throwing away his cone*
[Joey] *walking to an alley and taking out the portkey* I had fun tonight, thank you for coming with me. *hugging him and holding the camera, landing them near Ryan's* I will let you know when we are going surfing.
[EJ] *smiles and hugs her* I'm looking forward to it
[Joey] *walking him to the sidewalk in front* I will call you later, or you know, feel free to text me. *smiling at him*
[EJ] *hugs her again and kisses the top of her head* I'll text you. Remember I'm here if you need me.
[Joey] Thank you Evan, that means alot* Turning to look a the moon again and smiling* Tonight was fun. *taking a few steps away* Bye bye.
[EJ] It was I had a lot if fun *steps back when she does* bye
[Joey] *turning to wave one last time before disappearing*
